Either it will work due to the contaminated Fe anyway or it won't for me it is just another possibility that I haven't ruled out yet. <br />Keep reading and I may post the results.OrganicOverdosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06308937714718821761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726130056398324774.post-87259533634775566422009-11-05T08:43:57.945+10:002009-11-05T08:43:57.945+10:00@Artemis: ah I see, - duly noted@Artemis: ah I see, - duly notedMSGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08254326589743221405noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726130056398324774.post-65339296404365551032009-11-04T23:33:59.749+10:002009-11-04T23:33:59.749+10:00Tetrahedron Letters

It is understandable that it may allow the reaction to proceed faster but sometimes you just never know. That is the beauty of science.OrganicOverdosehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06308937714718821761noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7726130056398324774.post-440609686689249982009-11-04T09:54:00.210+10:002009-11-04T09:54:00.210+10:00DCE is on level 1 on my 'exotic solvents' ...DCE is on level 1 on my 'exotic solvents' list, along with DMPU and HMPA, but it's still a pretty common solvent. I didn't look at their solvent screen too closely, but vaguely from memory they did need to heat the reaction, and DCM is too low boiling for that.MSGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08254326589743221405noreply@blogger.com
